So, we moved, at one of the worst times of year. It has rained from the moment I started to pack , the two days we moved, and with the exceptions of a few days since we have been here.
Despite the usual stresses, we are in our country home.
It has had several uses over the years, it began life as an apple store, then when the orchards were sadly destroyed, became a granary, and then an annexe to the 19th century barn next door.
There are two and a half acres of seriously overgrown meadow, and the house is small but with planning to extend. We have so wanted to return to country life for a long time, and have found a beautiful place to live and inspire my designs.
The large windows overlook open farmland, Deer visit daily, Owls glide over the garden at dusk, Pheasants, Partridge and Foxes all come to explore.. We have noticed that Dorothy at first was a little scared of the dark, and the unfamiliar sounds and would only go outside if either Kit or myself was with her ....after all she has only known bright lights and city life in her four years.
I will post updates of our work as it goes along, and also my new additions to the Meadowlands range. My designer head is in overdrive.
It is a new home, a new beginning, a New Year, and I am glad we moved when we did, as we will have settled in and have the Spring and Summer to look forward to.
Thank you so much for your custom throughout 2019., I hope you are enjoying your purchases.
I am so excited for 2020, and hope your New Year will be happy, healthy, inspired and successful making beautiful homes.
Go well , Gloria xx
