Welcome, our new website Pen & Weave is up and running.
Now that the wonderful warm Summer we have enjoyed this year has ended,
Autumn is well and truly in our midst, and it is an exciting time of year to start a new venture. So I have been working to create a new space that is dedicated purely to the textile side of my work.
I have painted for as long as I can remember, from my earliest memories drawing was the activity that I enjoyed most and as a child I would wander for miles, over farm and woodland, sketch book in hand, drawing flowers, trees, people and animals, and even though Kit and I now live in a small, but pretty Victorian end terrace house in the city, I still like to bring the countryside to our home.
I love iconic simplicity, evident in my paintings and relief prints, and thought many of the designs would translate well on to textiles, so we set about choosing lovely natural fabrics to print on.
I am currently working on a range of Interior furnishing fabrics and will be adding them to the site soon,
We share our home with Dorothy ,a Miniature Long Haired Dachshund, who spends most of her time with us in the studio, making sure that we take regular breaks to walk or play with her.
She is the sweetest presence, and will probably appear here as well from time to time.
Why Pen & Weave?
We wanted a name that catches the imagination but is clearly descriptive.
The Pen symbolises the work in the hand drawn designs, and the Weave simply represents the beautiful natural fabrics we source to print them on
We have loved creating them, and hope you love them too.
